Affirmations — while different to manifestations, they are a powerful tool to challenge your current way of thinking and change the way you approach life.
Affirmations are powerful statements about what is true right now. Examples could be ‘I am strong’ or ‘I can do anything I set my mind to’. You have to believe the affirmation you are making, no matter how outlandish it feels.
Our society often teaches us to think negatively about ourselves, to be our own worst critics when it comes to looks, talent and relationships.
I think it’s a good practice to remind yourself of the positive things in your life, of what you are rather than what you aren’t.

My May Affirmations:
- As the earth is starting to bloom, so am I. I am stronger and more knowledgeable than ever before.
- I am healthy and happy.
- My body is perfectly supporting me the way it is. It has supported my travelling for the past months, including hours of walking, snowboarding and hiking, and will continue to do so going forward.
- The weather is warming up and so are old relationships. I am rekindling friendships and meeting new people every day.
- Wildlife is moving towards their summer home, as will I in the coming months. My nomadic lifestyle is exactly what I need at this point of my life. It's okay to wish for a more settled life every now and then and not be too harsh on myself.
- I am going to be burned, not just by the sun, and it is okay to be anxious about the future. I don’t have to know everything right at this moment.
As you can see, Canada travel has shaped a lot of my affirmations. I am on a road trip currently and sharing campgrounds with wildlife has really opened up my eyes to living alongside nature. Always remember that the beauty in nature is its imperfection!
