A City I Want To Visit This Year

Today is Day 17 of my 30 Day Writing Challenge – this has gone so fast! I’m really enjoying trying new topics to write about as well as different types of posts.

Today I want to try the age-old writing practice of writing prompts. I like them because it’s a way to fill a page without it having to be perfect. You can write about the most random topic for the sake of writing.

So, today I’m going to talk about a city I want to visit this year. It took me longer than I’d like to admit to pick one. I settled on Budapest. See, there are a ton that immediately came to mind such as Seoul, Vancouver, Kyoto and Istanbul.  These are all places that have been on my bucket list for a long time, yet with the global pandemic ongoing, it seems unrealistic to pick them as my cities at this moment. Budapest has actually been a city I have been dancing around for years. My friends and I have had it shortlisted as the place to go on quite a few occasions. Yet, the warmer places in Italy and Spain always ended up winning the majority vote. So this year I actually want to see Budapest. Even if it is a solo weekend trip. Honestly, if you’ve never been on a solo trip, you are massively missing out on some real growth opportunities. Super stereotypical I know, but it’s time to reflect and really enjoy the place you are visiting without distractions. It also forces you to branch out and meet new people which can often be the best part of the trip. But I digress – this year I would like to visit Budapest and finally wander the beautiful streets and relax in the thermal baths.
